My little reptile room...

These photos are from 2006/2007 season, the outdoor room is still being used for several of the reptiles. There are now also several enclosures in the house. keep checking back for updates as In The Gecko will be expanding is 2008. A new much larger pond and the reptile house will also be going through some changes.

My reptile room is actually an entire separate building located behind my garage. This small house is fully insulated and temperature controlled. I can monitor the temperature from the house with a wireless digital thermometer.

The incubator and several of the heating elements are plugged into a UPS unit in the event of any power failures. Most of the tanks are heated with under tank heaters except for those animals requiring a basking spot and UVB.

This is a the reptile room from outside:

This is the left side of the room, turtle tank on the bottom and some frog tanks just above it. You can see the one side of the large lizard enclosure. Usually used for rescued Iguanas.

This is part back right side of the room, housing beaded dragons, juvenile leopard geckos, Lacerta lizards and some adult leopard geckos. The 45g tank in the middle I use as a quarantine turtle tank.

The right side currently holds storage and the incubator, I also have a pair of Tokay geckos in the tank and on the wall you can see the UPS (back up power) units.

This is my small pond which I currently use to house some of the rescued turtles. When I am overloaded with turtles I rotate them all through the pond from tanks so that they can all benefit from basking in natural sunlight. Plans are already in the works for a much larger pond which will be at least three times bigger than this one.
